Benefits and Insurance
- Disability and Life insurance benefits valued at approximately $660 per year
- Access to recreational facilities
- Access to computer education resource center
- Access to UTHSC library databases, including UpToDate and Pubmed
- Four monogrammed lab coats or scrubs each year
- Residents and fellows are offered affordable health, vision, dental, life, and disability insurance through the GME office (GME insurance information).
Leave
- Residents may take up to three weeks of vacation per year. Annual leave is not accumulated from year to year.
- Educational leave is offered at the Program Director’s discretion.
- Residents are allowed up to three weeks of sick leave per year.
- Parental leave is available for the birth/adoption of a child (30 days paid, 12 weeks unpaid). Sick and/or annual leave may be used for the resident’s salary to continue. Additional time off may be permitted as leave without pay but may delay graduation.
